Mr El Hammady has 11 years of experience, covering a large range of projects. He has worked in different positions that are all related to design experiences. Currently he is the Owner and Founder of the architecture practice “PHENOMENA STUDIO” founded July 2005.
Previously held a position as a Group Leader architect in Dar al handasah consultants (shair and partners)-for nearly 6 years where he has acuired a considerable multidisciplinary experties from his contributions in many projects of different scales and natures undertaken by Dar Al Handasah in many places in the middel east.
Prior to joining DAR, Mr. El hammady was involved in many practical experinces that ranged from working in pirvate consultanties of local egyptian architects, to teaching to undergraduate students, and private design works weather it was private villas, Shops or small public buildings.
Immediately after graduation with an honour degree and distinction project from the architectural department of Ain shams university, he held a position as a member in the design team of Arid consultants of architect Ahmed Mito, for one year. And meanwhile he worked as a teaching assistant at architecture and interior department of Misr international university, where he participated in the teaching of architecural and interior design courses, in addition to working drawing , visual studies and theories of architecture.Also finishing the introductory courses for the master degree at Ainshams university in the first year, then he worked in “Cube” which is a local consultancy and conracting company, where he had more design and coordination responsabilities for one year.
Currently he works at his private design studio in different scales of projects wether those were villas,multi use complexes or interior and landscape projects. And working in parallel as a part time teaching assistant at the Arab academy for science and technology, (teaching introduction to working drawing course, and Design Studios). And finished his masters thesis about contemporary design philosophies in art and architecture in the year 2006. Also PHENOMENA STUDIO now is a consultancy office for the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and operation, where the office is getting ahead with a new architectural vision of different transportation projects related to the underground metro.
In Biennale Venice 2010, Hisham Alaa Participated in the design of the Egyptian Pavilion where he was nominated by ministry of Culture to be the Executive commissioner of the Egyptian pavilion titled “The Search for Salvation”.
